Release of Bio-Formats 8.1.0

Today we are releasing Bio-Formats 8.1.0 which includes several fixes and improvements.

The full list of changes included in this release are as follows:

New file formats:

• Hamamatsu DCIMG
  • add a new reader for Hamamatsu .dcimg files (thanks to Zach Marin)

File format fixes:

• Evident/Olympus OIR
  • fix an issue with reading timestamp metadata

  • add caching and support for LZ4 compression (thanks to Marco Stucchi)

Bio-Formats improvements:

• Remove LOCI entry from ImageJ plugins menu (thanks to Tiago Ferreira)
• Fix array endianness in bfsave MATLAB function
• Fix -version, -debug, -trace, and -no-upgrade options in tiffcomment command line tool

Component updates:

• logback was upgraded to 1.3.15
• ome-codecs was upgraded to 1.1.0
• ome-common was upgraded to 6.0.25
• ome-metakit was upgraded to 5.3.8
• ome-model was upgraded to 6.4.0
